Welcome to the Party in Paradise! Port Douglas comes alive in May 2018 with the highly anticipated Carnivale festival.
Come and celebrate this beautiful region with many different events including arts, markets, sports, family fun, cuisine and entertainment! This year the event will span across 3 days from Friday 25th to Sunday 27th May.
There will be events designed for anyone and everyone, we are expecting a great turnout and the best Port Douglas Carnivale yet! Help us celebrate 24 years of colour, fun and food at Carnivale 2018.

Tropical Magic Steet Parade
Macrossan Street comes alive with dazzling entertainment for the young and the young at heart for this year’s Topical Magic themed Port Douglas Carnivale Street Parade.
When? Friday 25th May from 5pm on Macrossan St
Cool breezes and ocean views, local produce matched with excellent wines and beers, this event is iconic Port Douglas. Seated under cover on one long table, indulge in a long lazy lunch as the The Longest Lunch serves up plentiful produce and entertainment by Spiegeltent performers and cool tunes under the palms.
When? Friday 25th May from 11:30am to 3pm at Rex Smeal Park
The Sugar Wharf and surrounding ANZAC park will be brought to life with a visual feast of captivating projection installations and cutting edge digital projection art.

Step right up to see the unique, amazing and astounding circus stars of CIRCUS WONDERLAND where the strongman, contortionist, acrobats and the gypsy come to Port Douglas bringing a thrilling and hilarious circus spectacular for the whole family!

Out at Carnivale
A celebration for the LGBT community after a resounding “Yes” vote for marriage equality in last year’s postal survey. Everyone is invited to come dance the night away at QT Hotel.
When? Friday 25th May after the parade at Estillo Bar, QT Hotel
An Adult circus caberet showcasing sensational acrobatics, operatic cabaret and tongue in cheek burlesque.
When? Friday 25th May at 8pm, Saturday 26th May at 4pm & 8:30pm and Sunday 27th May at 5pm & 7pm at the Spiegeltent.
Tropic Rock Concert with Ross Wilson
Australia’s favourite front man Ross (Daddy Cool) Wilson will headline a massive rock music party at Port Douglas Carnivale. Playing the hits of Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock, Wilson will have people off their bums and moving with a guaranteed good time, under the palms at the spectacular Rex Smeal Park.

Family Beach Day
Grab your family and friends and head to the Family Beach Day for a full day of fun and frolic by the sea. The Day will include a sky diving display, helicopter display, sand sculpting competition, Samba in the sand, entertainment, face painting, kids activities, markets stalls and more.

Akmal Saleh Stand Up Comedy
Akmal Saleh will be filling the Spiegeltent with laughter during his stand up comedy session. Movies, Sketch, Stand-Up, TV appearances, radio DJ and talk show host, improvisation and a published author, Akmal is one of Australia’s most respected, successful and accomplished comics. A show not to be missed!

Late Night Burlesque
With world class entertainers specialising in the arts of the beautiful and the bizarre this 60 minute show will have you wanting more! Witness live acts from titillating to terrifying and everything in between!

AFL Port Douglas Crocs Game
Here is a great chance to witness local Australian Rules Football at ground level. You’ll hear the bumps, view the courage and marvel at the unique skills and athleticism required to play this uniquely Australian game.

Hemingway’s Brewery is excited to be bringing the Seafood Extravaganza back to Port Douglas Carnivale, with a monster line up of music, food trucks, entertainment, and of course a showcase of the best seafood the region has to offer not to mention the best beer too! This is a day for families and friends, visitors and locals to come together and enjoy free entertainment and great seafood all along the boardwalk at the Marina.
